The second day of camp was slightly more relaxed once all Beavers had emerged from their tents around 7am for a breakfast of bacon rolls, cereal and toast. The day's activities then began with our plant pots being filled with soil and a herb seed, knot tying, cartoon strip making and presentation/performance making before presenting these to the group ahead of lunch. After a filling lunch of a baked potato with a range of toppings, the afternoon was spent playing games and a visit to the park to finish off an epic two days.

Thursday Beavers have been on a camp local to Randwick HQ. Day one was filled with a 5 mile hike through Randwick woods for den building and lunch before returning to the hut via Randwick park. Once back, we painted plant pots ready for planting the next day and composed bookmarks using natural materials we had collected on our walk. We then made pizzas for the evening and looked at kitchen safety. Then, following a few games and our pizzas we set up our tents and set out to Finns Way for a wide game before bed.

Today 14 scouts, cubs and beavers all took part in our first #loveyourcommunity litter pick around Cashes Green. The amount of litter we found in such a small area was astounding! Louise and some of the children were also interviewed by BBC Radio Gloucestershire. Hopefully this will be the start of our campaign and the first of many events. Thank you for all those who took part and for your enthusiasm 💚♻️🌱

Well done to six Scouts from across the District who took part in this week's Climber Activity badge course run by @thewarehouseclimbingcentre.

Over the 2 days the Scouts were introduced to everything from ropes types to climbing on an artificial rock face, climbing equipment to abseiling a 10 metre wall and the necessary calls for climbing to bouldering.

A huge thanks to Frank, their instructor for 2 days and the rest of the team at The Warehouse Climbing Centre for putting up with us.

If you would like to look into how you could get more involved in indoor climbing why not look at taking part in a NICAS climbing course: https://www.the-warehouse.co.uk/climbing/kids/nicas-climbing/
