Volunteer

Volunteering is a great way to meet new people, learn new skills and give back to your local community. Most of all, volunteering with Randwick Scout Group is one of the most rewarding and fun things you can do.

We are currently looking for a Group Scout Leader and a General Helper for our Thursday Scout Troop.

  • Group Scout Leader – this is a flexible role that involves working with the Executive Committee and Leaders, plus the option to participate in the activities we organise with our children and young people. This role can be adapted to suit your skills and experience. If you have sound communication skills, experience managing people, event management experience or administrative skills, this is the role for you. Randwick Scout Group needs a fresh approach to help us continue to thrive and more forward. This role is open to anyone and full training will be provided.
  • Treasurer – The treasurer manages and monitors the financial activities of the group – collating information from Beaver, Cub and Scout leaders; updating the Executive Committee; and, once a year preparing the Annual Accounts.  You don’t need to be a qualified accountant – if you can operate a spreadsheet, are reasonably organised you’ll be OK.  There’s about an hour or so a week of activity plus once a month a Monday evening committee meeting.
  • Assistant Beaver Leader – We are currently looking for someone to assist the Beaver leader with the running of our Thursday Beaver Scout Section, in particular, with the planning and delivery of activities.  The role will require someone who can volunteer for 2 hours per week and full support and a uniform will be included. No previous experience is necessary as full training will be provided.
  • Sectional Helper – join our successful teams helping our Beavers, Cubs and Scouts on a Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. This role involves working directly with the children and supporting them with educational activities and games. The role will require someone who can volunteer for up to 2.5 hours per week and full support and a uniform will be included. No previous experience is necessary as full training will be provided.
  • Occasional Helper – do you have a few hours to spare once or twice and month, then join our very successful Scout Group in supporting the leadership teams to deliver educational activities and games.
  • If you have any questions, or just want a friendly, non-committal chat, please contact us, we would love to hear from you .
